Benedict Cumberbatch played coy when asked Tuesday about the widespread speculation that Doctor Strange would appear in the finale of WandaVision.

The 44-year-old English actor during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon fielded a spoiler-free question from the 46-year-old host about the WandaVision finale that aired March 5 on the Disney+ streaming service.

‘I’m not going to tell anyone at home if that did or did not happen, but if it did not happen, was there a possibility that …,’ Jimmy wondered.

Jimmy and Benedict, who looked dapper in a black coat and grey scarf, then both started laughing at the high level of secrecy surrounding Marvel Studios projects.

‘We’re not even allowed to talk about anything anymore,’ joked Jimmy.

‘No, no, this has already gotten weird,’ Benedict said as he tried to answer it.

‘I can feel the Tom Holland in me coming out,’ quipped Benedict, referencing the 24-year-old English actor who has gained a reputation while portraying Spider-Man for being too revealing about Marvel movies.

‘He’s the champ,’ Jimmy said.

‘If, …if it didn’t happen. Then, I’m sorry about that,’ Benedict said of the numerous predictions that Dr. Strange would appear in WandaVision.

Benedict gushed about Elizabeth Olsen, 32, who starred in WandaVision as Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, and will be featured in the upcoming Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

‘She’s amazing. She’s on our show. It’s a very exciting next step for Wanda, as I think she’s already said on your show,’ Benedict said.

Jimmy also congratulated Benedict for the critical acclaim that his film The Mauritanian that he stars in and also produced has been receiving, including five nominations at the upcoming 74th British Academy Film Awards.

‘We’re over the moon. It feels fantastic,’ Benedict said of the nominations.

He praise Mohamedou Ould Salahi for inspiring the film and called the former Guantanamo Bay detainee an ‘incredible human being’.

Benedict described his character as an ‘ordinary guy’ who gets caught up in international espionage in the 1960s before the Cuban missile crisis.

The Courier will be released in theaters on March 19.
