Luke Bryan suffered a painful, yet small, setback on a fishing trip Tuesday, sharing his bizarre journey on Instagram.
The 44-year-old singer and American Idol judge invited his guitar tech Russ on a fishing trip Tuesday, which was interrupted when he somehow got a fishing lure hooked into his thumb.
‘Well… this is gonna leave a mark, he began, showing two of the three hooks on the lure have pierced through his skin, adding, ‘Pretty sure that’s in the bone.’

His wife Caroline Bryan, joked in a comment, ‘I leave your a** for 2 hours and this happens….damn baby.’
Bryan then took to his Instagram story to share another video, of himself and Russ in the car, with Russ driving him to the doctor.
‘Well, I invited Russ, my guitar tech, on a fishing trip, and leave it to me… I ruined the fishing trip,’ Bryan said, showing his lure-stuck thumb to the camera.

Russ: Bryan then took to his Instagram story to share another video, of himself and Russ in the car, with Russ driving him to the doctor

‘But we’ll be back on the water in about 25 minutes,’ Bryan added confidently, before the next video, which showed him getting his thumb treated.
He was seen laying back in an office while a woman tended to his thumb, as he wondered if his video ‘violated’ any rules.
‘It’s violating something,’ the woman added, as Bryan said they, ‘violated HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) somehow,’ with a grimace, as the woman said, ‘Turn that thing off.’

The injury must not have been terribly serious, since he also took to his Instagram story to promote his promo with Spotify for his new album.

The singer is releasing a deluxe edition of his 2020 album Born Here Live Here Die Here, which will feature six new tracks.
