Schapelle Corby is stunned by public apology on Dancing with the Stars as acid-tongued judge Todd McKenney admits he treated her ‘unfairly’

Schapelle Corby made a dazzling debut on Dancing with the Stars: All Stars on Sunday night – and even secured a public apology from one of her critics.

The convicted drug smuggler, 43, gave her all as she took to the dance floor in a semi-sheer red frock with intricate beading, to perform the Viennese waltz.

After impressing the judges – including a skeptical Todd McKenney – a shaking Schapelle told host Sonia Kruger how she was ‘so nervous’ that she was ‘crying’ backstage.

Before taking to the dance floor, Channel Seven ran footage of Schapelle at her gruelling dance rehearsals.

‘My hopes for this season of Dancing with the Stars is to make it to the end, and also lose some weight,’ she said in a piece to camera.

‘My fear is to be knocked out, and I’m up against the All Stars. I have had a tough decade and I’m here to really experience it.’

Todd McKenney admitted to Schapelle that he thought she was ‘going to be crap’, and she confessed she was ‘feeling the same’.

But after her performance, the acid-tongued judge was forced to eat his words.

‘I have to apologise to you in fact, because for whatever reason, I don’t know why and it’s unfair of me, but I thought you were gonna be crap,’ he said, before advising her to ‘move with more freedom’ in future performances.

Meanwhile, a visibly shaking Schapelle was asked by Sonia how she was feeling.

Looking at her hands, she confessed: ‘I’ve been so nervous. I’ve been crying out the back, I’ve had to do my makeup again.’
