Colin Farrell and Viggo Mortensen fly under the radar as they step out on the Gold Coast – after jetting Down Under to film Ron Howard’s Thirteen Lives

They travelled to Queensland, Australia last month to film Ron Howard’s new blockbuster Thirteen Lives. 

And actors Colin Farrell, 44, and Viggo Mortensen, 62, were spotted on the Gold Coast on Monday as they stepped out for a leisurely stroll in-between filming. 

The esteemed actors attempted to fly under the radar as they made their way down the footpath separately, with Viggo attempting to conceal his famous face behind sunglasses and a hat.

He completed his look with a black jacket, blue T-shirt and jeans. 

Irish-born Colin meanwhile showed off his bulging biceps in a dark blue T-shirt and baggy black track pants.  

He was seen clutching a brown leather bag and a white document envelope – perhaps containing a copy of his script.

Production on Thirteen Lives began in March, with the Gold Coast hinterland doubling for the film’s base of Thailand. 

The film will tell the story of the dramatic 2018 rescue of 12 young boys and their soccer coach after they ventured deep into a cave which later became flooded.

Production is also expected to inject more than $96million into the local economy, and create jobs for 435 cast and crew members, as well as an additional 3,400 background actors.

It comes amid reports Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence will travel to Australia soon to film the latest Fantastic Four film, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The paper reports that the Marvel superhero film franchise is set to ‘bed down’ in Australia ‘for the foreseeable future’.

Australia has become its own Hollywood hub over the past year, with swarms of A-listers fleeing coronavirus-ravaged America to work on projects Down Under.

Julia Roberts and Sean Penn are meanwhile expected to film a new political thriller in Sydney, with Julia arriving earlier last month.

Zac Efron was also recently in South Australia to film the Stan original movie Gold and is currently filming his Netflix series Down To Earth in Australia.

Other stars in Australia include Melissa McCarthy, Isla Fisher and husband Sacha Baron Cohen, Rita Ora, Russell Crowe and Sam Worthington and wife Lara Bingle.
