Joel Edgerton has welcomed his first child with girlfriend Christine Centenera.
The actor, 46, shared the happy news in an interview with Oprah Winfrey on Thursday, saying: ‘I just ran away from the hospital for a moment. I can’t even put it into words. I’m in love.’
While Joel did not provide any detail about the child, he did confirm Christine gave birth a few days ago in Sydney.

The Australian star went on to reveal he was nervous he might miss the birth, as he was filming another project in Queensland.
‘I was very nervous because I was working in Queensland and there are some border issues with Sydney and Queensland that pop up. ‘I was getting very nervous that I’d get stuck.’
Luckily, Joel was able to leave the set and return to Sydney on time for the happy arrival.
‘I was working with some wonderful people who said, ‘We will move heaven and earth to make sure you don’t miss something this important,” he added.
Joel and Christine, who works as the fashion director for Vogue Australia, debuted their relationship at GQ Australia’s Men of the Year Awards in Sydney in November 2018.
The notoriously private pair have been living at Joel’s home in Bondi during the coronavirus pandemic.
Joel will next be seen in the fantasy film The Green Knight alongside Dev Patel and Alicia Vikander.
