Shane Warne was badly constipated on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Akmal Saleh has unpacked some intriguing details about Shane Warne’s time on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2016. 

The 56-year-old comedian made the revelations on Triple M Sydney’s Moonman in the Morning on Friday.

He said the cricket legend, 51, made no secret his bowel issues while in the South African jungle.

‘Shane Warne had constipation,’ Akmal said. ‘He would share that with me every day.’

‘This is like, one of my heroes,’ the funnyman added. ‘I grew up watching Warnie, and he’s sitting in the African jungle going, “Mate, I haven’t done a s**t in three days!”  

‘If a psychic came up to me and said, “You’re going to be in the South African jungle with Shane Warne, discussing with you his bowel movements,” I would say, “Give me my money back!” he said.  

Triple M host Jess Eva then asked Akmal about the show’s infamous ‘smoking area’ – which Shane apparently insisted on in his contract.

Contestants on I’m a Celebrity typically aren’t allowed to smoke. 

‘Yes there was, and I busted them,’ he answered. ‘I did a bit of investigation.’

‘I said, “I smell tobacco, I’ll follow this.” Unless there are baboon’s smoking, but it wasn’t a baboon, it was Shane Warne.’

‘He does have a very red backside,’ chimed in Lawrence Mooney.  

Jess – who appeared on this year’s season of I’m a Celeb – then revealed it was Shane who got the smoker’s area banned for future seasons.

This was because he would save his best content for the smoker’s area, rather than saying things in the camp where the microphones were on.  

Shane and Akmal featured on season two of I’m a Celebrity Australia in 2016. 

The series was won by former AFL player Brendan Fevola, and helped relaunch his career as a TV and radio personality.
