Farmer Wants a Wife star, 40, in tears after being sent home ‘for being too old’

Viewers were left stunned on Monday when Victorian farmer Will Dwyer sent home beauty therapist Tammy on Farmer Wants a Wife.

During a heart-to-heart, sheep and cattle farmer Will, 39, told Tammy, 40, to leave his Longwood farm, which left her in tears.

A shocked Tammy said she suspected her age was a factor in Will’s decision – despite the fact she’s only one year older than him.

‘Look, I’m not going to beat around the bush. I’m going to be very honest,’ Will began.

‘This is so ridiculously hard for me, and I can’t even make eye contact with you. You have done nothing wrong, you are wonderful.’

He added: ‘The last thing I’d want to do is screw anyone around or play any games.

‘I just want to be truthful and upfront with you, and I just feel sick to be honest.’

A tearful Tammy then said she felt her age may have been her undoing, but appreciated Will’s honesty by not wasting her time. 

‘I am definitely sad to say goodbye, but I’ll be fine,’ she said.

‘I think possibly my age might be an underlying factor. I don’t think Will’s ready for kids right away. I think that’s a long-term thing for him, so I think one of the other girls would be more suited to him in that respect.’

His other matches are in their twenties and thirties. On his Farmer Wants a Wife profile, Will says he wants children in the next ‘five years’, not straight away.
