Optus customers have been hit with a service outage for the second time in a week.

Customers complained about the breakdown in service on Friday afternoon after the telco also experienced problems with providing calls, texts and internet use on July 2.

The patrons took to the website Downdetector to voice their frustrations.

Optus customers have again had trouble calling, messaging and accessing data as many users have taken to twitter to complain about the outages

Complaints about Optus outages went from five reports at about 3pm on Friday to 247 complaints by about 5.30pm.

Optus replied to one customer with the following tweet:

Twitter uses have also voiced their frustrations, with most receiving the same reply:

‘We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. In the meantime, we recommend data messaging services such as iMessage, WhatsApp and Messenger where possible’.

Customers are infuriated as they are again unable to use mobile services, with tweets flooding in about the outages.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Optus for comment.
