‘Good Mid-Morning Britain’: Susanna Reid cheekily asks for a later start on Monday as she gears up to watch England in the Euro 2020 final

A number of businesses and schools have decided to open later on Monday following the Euro 2020 final.

So Susanna Reid, 50, thought she’d also try her luck as she joked Good Morning Britain should be renamed Good Mid-Morning Britain to allow for a later start after England’s match against Italy.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the GMB presenter responded to a thread started by BBC weather reporter Matt Taylor.

The meteorologist uploaded a spoof intro for the BBC Breakfast programme, with the title instead reading ‘BBC Brunch’.

GMB director Erron Gordon then followed up by responding with: ‘Matt do you mind if I steal this and launch Good Afternoon Britain?’

Susanna then chipped in with a cheeky suggestion of her own and tweeted: ‘Good Mid-Morning Britain.’

It comes after Susanna met up with her former GMB co-host Piers Morgan and his sons on Wednesday as they watched England overcome Denmark at Wembley.

Piers’ son Spencer took to Instagram on Wednesday to document his journey to Wembley alongside his father and brother ahead of the game.

In one short clip, Piers could be seen making a fist with one hand as he cheered on Gareth Southgate’s side.

Later on, once inside the stadium, Spencer shared another clip showing Susanna Reid waving at the camera as they met up to say hello.

Captioning the clip, Spencer wrote: ‘Find all sorts in the gaff’.

A day later, on Thursday, Spencer also uploaded a picture to his Instagram account, which showed him with an arm around Susanna in the stands at Wembley.

The pair both had grins on their faces and Spencer made a thumbs up with one of his hands.

Captioning the image, he wrote: ‘Not only did we bring it on the verge of home, but I also bumped into an old friend. Ledge’.
