Shirley Ballas rushed to A&E after slicing her hand open on a knife on Monday morning.
The Strictly Come Dancing head judge, 60, kept her Instagram followers up to date with her hospital visit, explaining NHS staff were checking if any glass was in the wound and if the tendon needed ‘sewing up’.
She told fans: ‘This morning, I sliced my hand and it went so deep that it’s really really through the flesh.

‘There was blood everywhere, so I’m now at A&E and I think I’m going to have a few stitches. Watch this space.’
Giving an update later, she explained: ‘I’m in X-Ray because they have to check if there is any glass in there, I think it’s gone all the way through to the tendons so they’re going to send me to another hospital.’
Shirley could be seen wearing her mask as she sat in her hospital bed and later a waiting room before going into a treatment room.

The professional dancer usually looks after her body very well, revealing earlier this month that she’d never eaten a takeaway.
She discussed her culinary habits ahead of her appearance on cooking show Cooking With The Stars, where she told how her taste in food is ‘simple’ and admitted she’d rather starve than eat a McDonald’s.
Shirley also admitted that she had a ‘difficult’ relationship with food due to her ex-husband Corky Ballas having ‘a thing about weight’ and would make her feel uneasy if she’d had a big portion.

In an interview with the Radio Times, the ballroom dancer explained her eating preferences and told how she’d rather a home-cooked meal rather than a takeaway.
She said: ‘I’ve never ordered in – I have never done that Deliveroo thing, ever – and I don’t eat fast food. I’d rather starve than eat a McDonalds.’
Shirley went on to say that when growing up, she ate wholesome foods such as ‘meat, potatoes and veg’, while their dinner routines were very regular with a roast on a Sunday and beans on toast on Thursdays.
She went on to say that her family would have ‘egg and chips’ on a Friday as they would ‘run out of money’, before going on to describe her mother as a ‘plain Jane’ cook’.
