Lorde reveals the first singer who ever left her starstruck and the advice her songwriting partner Jack Antonoff gave her during Vogue’s 73 Questions

Lorde revealed little known facts about herself during an interview with US Vogue’s 73 Questions on Wednesday.

In a candid interview with the YouTube series, the 24-year-old singer revealed her friend Taylor Swift was the first musician who had ever left her starstruck.

The Royals hitmaker also confessed she’d love to collaborate with Harry Styles, admitting she’d love to get him on the phone.

Elsewhere in the interview, Lorde revealed what the best advice her rumoured boyfriend and music producer Jack Antonoff gave her. 

‘Once he said to me, “Don’t let me ruin your life more than I already have.” He’s a nut,’ she smiled.

Both Lorde and Jack, 37, have maintained they’re just good friends and music collaborators amid several public sightings together.

Speaking about her music, Lorde – real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor – said she’s learnt to ‘trust my instincts because they’re always right’. 

‘If I’m not feeling that special alchemy when I write a part, it’s got to go. Even if it’s right on paper, it’s got to go,’ she added.

The Solar Power singer revealed fans would be surprised to discover she packs her own ‘expensive sheets’ whenever she goes on tour.

Before each show, she said she ‘lights a candle’ and sets her ‘intention’ for the upcoming performance.

She also spoke about the importance of taking time out between albums, revealing she likes to cook and makes herself ‘very available’ to her friends and family.  

‘I just have to go and live my life so I have stuff to write about,’ she explained.
