A Tesla’s dashcam recorded the moment an elderly Louisiana woman keyed the car, causing almost $8,000 in damage after a dispute about a parking spot.
In the clip, Amanda Aubin, the Tesla’s owner, is seen parking in an empty spot in Baton Rouge, while being followed by a red vehicle.
A woman in a pink shirt with half of her face covered with a black mask, then stops and exits her red car after Aubin parks.
The same woman then walks by Aubin’s Tesla and uses a key to scratch the vehicle.
One minute later, the woman goes around the car again and deliberately leaves further damage on the door before walking away.

The woman and the Tesla’s owner had been aiming at the same parking spot minutes prior to the incident, but the Tesla’s owner secured the space
The incident happened shortly before 10am on September 22.
Aubin told WAFB that just minutes before, the woman and her were aiming for the same parking space, however, Aubin was able to secure the spot first.
‘You know, we both signaled, and I got there first, it looks like. And I just pulled in, and she parked in another spot. So, I was like, okay no issue,’ Aubin told the outlet.
Aubin had an appointment and parked her Tesla outside the clinic in Baton Rouge. When she returned just 45 minutes later, she found the scratches on her car door.
‘It’s petty and childish. I mean, this is coming from a grown woman. I’m a grown woman. This is ridiculous. I mean, she could’ve just left me a note, if she was that angry at me,’ Aubin said.
Aubin’s vehicle was left with several scratches and ‘pretty deep cuts.’ She said the repair was $7,650 and she has since filed a report with police.

‘Keying someone’s car, that’s crazy. The fact that I didn’t think, she knew, she was being recorded. But that’s all being turned over to the cops,’ she told WAFB.
Aubin’s Tesla was in ‘Sentry Mode,’ which is a security feature that monitors suspicious activity around when the car is parked.
Teslas have front, rear, and left and right door cameras that alert owners when a threat is perceived.
When suspicious motion is detected, the car reacts depending on the severity of the threat.
If it’s considered a ‘significant threat,’ the car’s cameras will record the activity, the alarm system will activate and the owner will receive an alert from the Tesla app, according to the company’s website.

The dark-haired, bespectacled man driving a red Volkswagen unknowingly stared directly into the Tesla’s security camera when he slammed his car door several times into a woman’s Tesla.
Then he’s seen scratching the side of the Tesla with something sharp while it was parked in an Altamonte Springs parking lot.
The Tesla owner, Melissa Mel, posted the video on her Facebook page and said, ‘I’m trying to get this guy’s face out there for doing a criminal act to my car on July 4th while I was at work.’
‘This shouldn’t be a ‘thing’ to damage someone’s car,’ she said.
