A fitness coach has shared her recipe to make a ‘low calorie’ Hungry Jack’s Whopper with cheese and sauce at home.

Bec Hardgrave, from Brisbane, made the ‘fakeaway’ burger using 100g of lean beef mince, smoky cheese from Coles, low sugar tomato sauce, low fat mayonnaise, pickles, lettuce, tomato and onion in an Aldi brioche bun.

Bec’s version contains 390 calories while the fast-food original contains 743 calories – almost double the amount.

‘If you can flame grill your meat, you’ll get the authentic taste,’ she wrote on Instagram and shared a video with her 60,000 followers. 

In the clip, Bec prepared the meal by cooking the lean beef patty then placed it on the bottom brioche bun and topped with cheese.

Next, she added the tomato sauce, sliced pickles, onions and tomato, then drizzled the mayonnaise on top.
