Multi-millionaire Adele has claimed that she moved to Los Angeles because she ‘couldn’t afford’ to live in London.
The singer – who reportedly has a net worth of £130 million ($177m) – told British Vogue that she invested in three Beverly Hills mansions in order to get better value for her dollar.
‘The kind of house I have in LA I could never afford in London. Ever,’ the Tottenham native told the outlet.

The Grammy-winner added that when in London, most of her time was spent ‘in a car or inside a building,’ and that she hoped to relocate to a place with ‘fresh air and somewhere I could see the sky.’
Adele, who shares nine-year-old son Angelo with Simon Konecki, said that she had ‘looked at houses’ in London before coming to the conclusion and moving Stateside in 2016.
‘It’s like hundreds of millions of pounds,’ she said. ‘I don’t have that much money at all. I’d throw up.’

She also praised the better weather in Los Angeles.
‘Once I had Angelo, in England if you haven’t got a plan with a young child and it’s raining, you’re f***ed,’ she said.
The Hello artist owns a trio of neighboring mansions in Los Angeles, with an estimated value of $30 million (£22m), The New York Post reported.
Yet she described her home as ‘very much a British cottage.’
Earlier this year, she splashed out on the third home of her compound.
The four-bedroom, four-bathroom mansion, with pool and basketball court, was sold for $9,950,000 on May 26.
The star lives in a gated enclave where her celeb neighbors include Katy Perry, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, the Post reported.
Meanwhile, Simon, who she finalized her divorce from earlier this year, resides in one of the abodes so ‘nothing changes for Angelo,’ she told the outlet.
Adele also owns a home in London, which she described as ‘like Italian or something,’ adding, ‘I don’t even want to sit down in it.’
Adele was born in Tottenham and brought up around the Brixton area.
Her property ventures come worlds away from her humble beginnings when she was raised by her single mother Penny in a series of south London flats, including an abode above the This, That And The Other Discount Store in West Norwood.
