Tommy Fury is on the verge of reaching an agreement to fight Jake Paul, with the Briton’s promoter, Frank Warren, confirming that a bout in either November or December is close.

Fury, 22, has been embroiled in a bitter war of words with the YouTuber, 24, in recent months and the pair clashed in Cleveland, Ohio, in August having fought on the same card.

Paul boasts an unblemished record of four wins and no losses in the professional ranks, although he has opted to face mixed martial artists or novices with no previous boxing experience.

However, the American is in talks to take on Fury, who is also undefeated with seven wins and has a strong boxing pedigree with brother Tyson, 33, regarded as the best heavyweight on the planet.

Paul has offered Fury $1million (£734,500) to fight him, with a further $500,000 (£367,300) bonus if he wins, although in the event that the Love Island star loses he must change his name to ‘Timmy Fumbles’ for 12 months.

And Warren has revealed that an agreement for Fury to take on Paul is ‘quite close’ as the veteran promoter admitted that the financial rewards for taking on the 24-year-old is too good to turn down.

‘At the moment we’re working through the terms, we’re quite close and I’m hoping we can get it over the line,’ Warren told iFL TV,

‘It’s a great fight for Tommy. It’s a very lucrative fight for him. Financially how can you not turn that down.

‘I think he wins it. It’s captured everyone’s imagination, it’s all they were talking about out in the States.

‘Hopefully we’ll finish it off this week and we can move forward. It’ll be in late November, December.’
