  • De ligt has no issues with the club but the super agent sees it differently

The agent of Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly been in contact with Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona with the intention of moving his client away from the Italian club.

The 22-year-old Holland international joined the Serie A side from Ajax in 2019 for £63million and he has been heavily involved in their charge to regain the title back from Inter Milan this season.

Despite having no issues at the club, his agent Mino Raiola sees it different and he is looking to find De Ligt a new club in the summer and has already initiated talks with several clubs in Europe.

According to Calciomercato, Raiola has ‘threatened’ to take the Dutch defender away from Juventus at the end of the season.

The super agent has made contact with Chelsea, Manchester City as well as Barcelona – who were interested in De Ligt before he moved to Italy just over two years ago.

However, Juventus have no plans to sell their star man – who has just under three years remaining on his contract.

The 36-time Italian champions are ‘not willing to grant discounts’ and any club looking to acquire the service of the centre-back will have to splash out £126million (€150m). It’s believed that there won’t be many clubs who’ll met their demands.

At the age of just 22, De Ligt is one of the highest rated defenders in Europe and since moving to Italy, he has won Seria A and the Coppa Italia.

Prior to his move in 2019, De ligt became the youngest ever captain in a Champions League knockout game – at the age of just 19 and 186 days old. Later that season, he led Ajax to the semi-final of that competition.

Following a slow start to the season, Juventus have now won five league games on the bounce and they currently sit in seventh spot.
