Love Island Austrlia: Mitch leaves Emily in TEARS as he dumps her for Tina

Love Island Australia’s Mitch Hibberd leaves Emily Ward in TEARS as he dumps her during a tense chat – before breaking down himself as he tells Tina Provis he’s ‘all in’ with her

Tensions reached an all-time high during Tuesday’s episode of Love Island Australia.

Emily Ward was left in tears after AFL player Mitch Hibberd revealed he no longer wanted to pursue a relationship with her and instead wanted to crack on with Tina Provis, his original love interest in the villa.

In a tense discussion in the bedroom, Mitch, 25, told Emily: ‘You’ve come in and picked me and I reassured you that I was going to give it a go and all that.

‘I just feel like… at the moment, I want to pursue things with Tina. Spending time with you – we are good, but I feel like I’ve been cheating a bit.

‘I can’t keep doing this to myself, and I can’t keep doing it to both of you as it’s f**ked. It’s f**king toxic.’

A heartbroken Emily, who had shared a steamy kiss with Mitch just a few hours earlier, replied: ‘I’m not angry, it’s just disappointing.’

The 24-year-old added through tears: ‘I just feel like I’ve made an a**e out of myself.

‘All the tears, angst, emotional torment. I did everything possible to have a fair shot, and you didn’t give it one. I just wanted us to have a chance.’

After apologising to Emily, the hunky athlete wasted no time telling Tina he wanted to be with her once and for all.

‘I’ve chatted to Emily, and I’ve said that I want to pursue things with you,’ he said, before becoming emotional himself.

‘I don’t want to f**king cry… I’m gonna cry,’ he said, putting his sunglasses on to hide his tears.

‘The way I felt… I honestly couldn’t stop thinking about you. I felt like I wanted to try everything with her, and it just didn’t feel right,’ he said.

‘It felt like I was cheating the whole time. I think it’s been a test, and it’s actually showed me so much about myself, and how much I actually do care.’

Speaking in the beach hut, an elated Tina said: ‘I didn’t expect it to go the way that it went. I just feel so happy right now!’

Love Island Australia continues Wednesday at 8:40pm on Channel Nine
