Tetchy Jose Mourinho hits out at a reporter after Roma draw with Bodo/Glimt

‘Did you watch? You tell. You didn’t see it?!’: Spiky Jose Mourinho tries to turn the questions on to his interviewer in ANOTHER angry end to a below-par Roma result against Bodo/Glimt

  • Roma twice came from behind to draw at home to Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt
  • Jose Mourinho was livid his side were denied two penalties by the referee
  • He was especially irritable in his post-match interview with Jan Age Fjortoft

It was another embarrassing night for Jose Mourinho and Roma in the Europa Conference League as they were held at home to a 2-2 draw by Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt.

After losing 6-1 in Norway, Roma lost a chance for revenge at the Stadio Olimpico. Bodo/Glimt took the lead twice with goals from Stephan El Shaarawy and Roger Ibanez equalising both times for Roma. The draw means Mourinho now has one win in his last six game.

And the Portuguese was unhappy with the display of referee Anastasios Papapetrou after he turned down two penalty appeals from his side. It was a point he raised in a number of post-match interviews after the game, including a tetchy exchange with Jan Age Fjortoft.

‘Look, the referee has to explain but they don’t speak,’ Mourinho said when asked to explain his feelings on the game.

And when Mourinho was asked what the referee did wrong, he said: ‘Did you watch the game?”

‘Yes, of course,’ Fjortoft replied, ‘but I want it from you. What did you see from your point of view?’

Mourinho continued to turn the interview around onto the reporter, but Fjortoft insisted; ‘I want to hear the from the Roma coach.’

Mourinho eventually said: ‘They are a good team and they have good players. They had two shots, they score two goals. The result was 2-2. We had two penalties. We had four or five chances to score.’

In a separate interview, Mourinho blasted the standard of refereeing in the Europa Conference League.

‘I think the result is harsh on us. It wasn’t a great performance, we made a lot of technical errors, especially in the first half when playing out from the back. Every time it went to Veretout or Darboe, we lost the ball,’ Mourinho told Sky Sport Italia.

‘The reality of the game is 2-2, but the two penalties were clear as day. Clear as day.

‘You can talk about whatever you want, but the reality is 2-2, they had two shots on target and two goals. We scored two goals and had two clear penalties denied.

‘I don’t know if they get referees who are poor and starting their careers for the Conference League. I didn’t say anything about the referee in Norway, because we lost 6-1, but here the two penalties were clear.’
