This is the shocking moment Asda staff desperately tried to break up a vicious fight between a female employee and a customer.

The altercation occurred after the woman allegedly ‘assaulted’ the supermarket worker.

The disturbing incident was filmed at the Asda supermarket in Tollgate Road in Beckton, London at around 8.50pm on Friday, November 5.

In the footage, the two women furiously fight with one another, as a horde of Asda workers and customers attempt to separate the pair.

The female employee and the customer can be seen wrestling and grabbing at one another in the middle of the busy supermarket.

Amidst the chaos a tearful child can be heard screaming in the background of the clip.

After the staff break up the fight, the female customer emerges disheveled from the brawl yelling. ‘Where’s the F****** police? Where’s my daughter?’.

The video was widely shared on social media this weekend, leading many to speculate the cause of the fight.

One false claim suggested that the altercation erupted after the Asda employee picked up the customer’s daughter, who was sitting on a self-checkout conveyer belt.

However, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) said officers were called to the scene after the customer allegedly assaulted the Asda employee, and denied the story involving the customer’s daughter.

In a statement the MPS said: ‘At 20.50pm on Friday, November 5, police were called to a supermarket in Tollgate Road, Beckton following an allegation that a customer had been assaulted by a member of staff.

‘Officers attended and conducted enquiries, including viewing CCTV of the incident.

‘It was established that the member of staff had acted in self-defence having been assaulted by a customer.

‘A 30-year-old woman was identified and will be interviewed in due course in relation to an allegation of common assault.

‘We are aware of a video that has been shared on social media with a version of events inconsistent with what was established at the scene.

‘We would ask the public to refrain from sharing it further.’
