They’ve been friends for years, and now they’re more than that.
On Monday Lance Bass, 42, appeared on the Ancestry YouTube show 2 Lies and a Leaf and discovered longtime friend Britney Spears, 39, is his cousin.
‘I wanted to be related to the queen [of England] but now I’m related to the queen of pop,’ he said on the nine-minute episode.

The NSYNC band member’s husband Michael Turchin appeared on the show as well.
The couple engaged in a game-style setup in which they had to answer questions about their respective family histories.
After learning various tidbits about his background the host asked the couple, ‘Which unexpected distant relative is part of Lance’s musical family tree?’
The options were Faith Hill, Britney Spears, and Elvis Presley. ‘I really hope it’s Britney but there’s no way,’ the Bye Bye Bye singer said before he found out the shocking news.

Lance guessed Elvis Presley while his visual artist counterpart guessed correctly, choosing the Grammy award-winning music artist.
‘That is so crazy, though, because I feel like she’s my little sister. And this whole time she’s been my little cousin,’ the father-of-two said afterward.
Pleasantly surprised, he added: ‘That’s too good to be true. This means so much to me. She is like family to me. So, the fact that we are blood-related is amazing.’
And the former boy band member mentioned that he and Spears were born just an hour away from each other in the south.

Bass and Turchin were assisted by a surrogate to bring their children into the world, and the siblings were born October 13.
On Monday the Laurel, Mississippi native shared a photo of the brother and sister to Instagram. They were dressed in white NSYNC onesies.
‘They’re tearin’ up my heart,’ he wrote in the caption, nodding to his 1997 hit song with the band.
