The Block: Tanya Guccione says she ‘gained NO advantage’ from cheating

She was the major ‘villain’ on The Block and responsible for the popular renovation series’ ‘biggest cheating scandal ever’. 

And Tanya Guccione has now revealed more details about the scandal and how the controversial schedule leak provided ‘no advantage’ on Tuesday’s Kyle and Jackie O’ Show. 

‘It gave us absolutely no advantage,’ the reality TV star told the radio hosts after Jackie O’ asked her if she got ‘more money than others’ because of the leak.

‘That schedule got changed on Week 3,’ Tanya continued. 

‘So people bang on about, “You cheated, you cheated the whole way”. I’m like, “For nine weeks, 10weeks, I was building the house like everybody else.” 

She added that she was ‘up until 3am’ renovating the house with her husband Vito like all the other couples.

‘That money, we worked for it, and gave them a bloody good show,’ Tanya stated.  

Tanya and husband Vito found themselves at the centre of a cheating scandal early in the season after Tanya obtained a photo of the show’s production schedule on a whiteboard.

She explained to Kyle and Jackie O’ that she was in the production house bathroom to use the toilet at the time when she crossed paths with Josh Packham. 

Tanya claims Josh asked about the production schedule board located in the next room, after which Tanya suggested they should ‘take a photo’.

According to the reality star’s recount of the event, Josh agreed and told Tanya that he would ‘stay on the lookout’ while she took the picture.

Tanya shared the image with both of the Packham twins, who sent it to their builder, before it ‘spread like wildfire’.  

Regardless of the fact that she was technically cheating, Kyle and Jackie O’ agreed with Tanya that the scandal did make for ‘good television’.

After the leak on the show, the Gucciones and the Packham twins were each docked two points for a room reveal as punishment.  

It follows reports Tanya and Vito did more than just annoy their rivals on the worksite, with the crew and producers finding them just as infuriating.

The producers were apparently at their wits’ end by the season finale and even described the Gucciones as ‘the most annoying contestants’ in the show’s history.
