LEGO Masters Bricksmas special also won the ratings in all the key demographics.

It comes on the back of a difficult week for Channel Seven, after it was revealed they were banned by Sony from airing an exclusive interview with Adele, 33.

Channel Seven reporter Matt Doran was forced to apologise to the Easy on Me singer after admitting he hadn’t listened to her new album, 30, ahead of his interview with Adele.

The network had obtained an exclusive interview with the star as part of its $1million package that also included broadcast rights to Adele’s One Night Only concert and her sit-down with Oprah Winfrey.

Doran, 37, was flown to London for the interview earlier this month, where he told Adele he’d only heard one song from her latest release.

According to a report by The Daily Telegraph on Sunday, an ‘offended’ Adele had then ‘stormed out’ of the interview.

Sony responded by banning the network from airing any part of the interview during its One Night Only package.

Seven executives were said to be furious and ‘suspended’ Doran for two weeks.

Speaking to The Australian on Monday, Doran admitted he was ‘mortified and unequivocally apologetic’ about the gaffe.

‘When I sat down to interview Adele, I was totally unaware that I’d been emailed a preview of her unreleased album,’ he said.

‘I have since discovered it was sent to me as an ‘e card’ link, which I somehow missed upon landing in London.

‘It was an oversight but NOT a deliberate snub. This is the most important email I have ever missed.’
