A mum has proven you don’t need to spend a fortune on a high-end Christmas tree after transforming a $19 buy into a striking festive piece.  

Shae, from Sydney, has received over 300 comments and over 1100 likes since sharing her festive fluffing efforts on her West Avenue 2.1m Snow Tipped Christmas Tree from Catch of the Day.  

She said it took her two hours to ‘fluff’ the buy after taking it out of the box and urged others to ‘make sure there’s consistency’ in the direction of each branch.

This was Shae’s first time fluffing up a Christmas tree, revealing that all she had to do was fold out the branches and fluff up the tips, working her way from top to bottom. 

‘Yours looks way better than the actual marketing image,’ a stunned woman wrote on the post, with many agreeing.

Shae’s West Avenue Christmas tree comes with festive accents, complete with pine needles and snowy branches.

A Target tree has also gone viral of late, with a sell-out $69 Snowy Aspen Christmas Tree. 

The artificial tree, measuring 183cm tall, is easy to assemble, flame retardant, makes a great centrepiece for festive celebrations and is simple to decorate.

The ‘glorious’ white trees have been a huge hit among thousands of shoppers every year, with the product selling out in the months leading up to the big day. 

‘Love this snowy tree, so pretty, fills the house with Christmas joy,’ one wrote.  

‘There is a significant improvement in the overall presentation, visual and touch quality along with durability which helps the tree maintain its shape,’ a Target Spokeswomen told Daily Mail Australia.  

Tips and tricks for setting up the perfect Christmas tree 

1. Make sure you’re tree fluffing, otherwise known as tree shaping. Fluffing your tree correctly will transform your drab tree to the most incredible lush and full tree

2. Work your way from the bottom to the top of the tree

3. Work one branch at a time and start from the centre of the tree and work your way out to the tip and make your way around the tree

4. Fluff your tree as simple as ‘left, right and centre’. Each branch has many tips on it and if you start from the centre and work your way out and lift a left tip, then a right tip, then a centre tip and work your way out to the end of the branch

5. Ensuring you do this you will find that you use less decorations and won’t have any gaps
