Melissa always takes her makeup off after a long day, which involves a double cleanse.

‘I double cleanse with oil just to make sure everything’s off,’ she said of the first step in her night-time routine.

‘[The reason why] I like oil is because it does help to dissolve makeup really effectively and very gently,’ she added.

  • Have a hot shower in order to relax the muscles
  • Double cleanse with oil to remove makeup
  • Apply two serums
  • Use hand cream and lip balm
  • Go to bed  for a good night’s sleep

Melissa removes the excess with a face washer and warm water.

The next step in her routine is to add a serum in order to replenish her skin.

‘I might alternate between using, say, a retinol serum or a glycolic-based exfoliating serum that sits on the skin overnight,’ she said.

The writer then moves on to a Vitamin C serum or hydration serum.

‘What I like about a night-time routine, whether or not that’s skincare or all of the other things, is just it’s a nice way to have some you time,’ she said.

It comes after Melissa stepped out with her new boyfriend Rob Mason earlier this month at the Melbourne Cup carnival.

She split from husband Joe Jones in December, after nearly four years of marriage.
