Letizia of Spain is given tour of Stockholm library by Silvia of Sweden

Queen Letizia of Spain cut a typically stylish figure today as she joined fellow monarch Queen Silvia of Sweden for a tour of Bernadotte Library in Stockholm on her second day of her state visit to the Scandinavian country.  

Letizia, 49, proved her sartorial prowess in a pretty pastel dress with complementing heels.

The mother-of-two teamed the crew-neck skater dress with suede slingbacks and a clutch bag, while opting for classic glamour make-up. 

Meanwhile, Queen Silvia, 77, looked effortlessly chic in a navy tweed co-ord and platform heel.

The two queens walked side-by-side into the historic building.

Opting for a touch of highlighter on her nose, forehead and cheeks the all-out look was a far-cry from her usual natural glow.

Adding further glitz to her appearance, Letizia dazzled with a pair of huge diamond earrings, which she showed off by tucking her sleek straightened hair behind her ears.  

The trip comes less than a week after the couple held a glittering state banquet in honour of the Italian President Sergio Mattarella’s visit to Spain.

On Tuesday, the couple were seen travelling from the Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport, the Spanish royals were accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Science and Innovation, as well as the Secretary of State for Commerce. 

Proving Letizia isn’t the only monarch who reigns high in the style stakes, Silvia dressed in a classic 90s-style blue suit with distinctive black trimmings.

The collared jacket was embellished with a feather while she paired the look with a matching clutch bag.

The pair were joined by library officials but were without their husbands King Carl XVI Gustaf and King Felipe VI.

Letizia and Felipe arrived at the Residence of the Embassy of Spain on Tuesday as part of a two-day tour of the country.

They later arrived at the Residence of the Embassy of Spain in Sweden, where Felipe addressed the Spanish residents, saying: ‘All of you, those of you who have been here longer and those who are still looking for your place in this new host country, we would like to send you a message of support, as you represent, outside of our borders, much of the best of our country.’

He added: ‘We are certain that you demonstrate not only your ability to work and commitment, but also your tenacity and ingenuity, as well as your excellent training.’

The Spanish community in Sweden has grown at a sustained rate in the last decade, and up to 37.12 per cent in five years, as Spaniards emigrate to take advantage of job opportunities.

Last night, the Swedish royal family treated Felipe and Letizia to a glamorous state banquet at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

Letizia commanded attention in a navy ruffled ballgown and glittering tiara, while heir to the Swedish throne Crown Princess Victoria, 44, who arrived alongside her husband Prince Daniel, opted for a floral embellished gown and gem encrusted tiara for the occasion.

She was joined by Princess Sofia, 36, Prince Carl Philip, 42, as well as King Carl Gustaf, 75, and Queen Silvia, 77, as they hosted the Spanish royal couple.
