‘Except Ferran, all of them are ready to travel,’ Guardiola said. ‘We are much better, I said before the game against Villa that we need everyone.’

Guardiola was nominated for manager of the month as City begin to hit their stride in the title race but the Catalan brushed that aside.

‘Individual awards are for the communication (of the league), that the show must go on,’ he added.

‘Don’t pay much attention to these awards, they’re because the teams are winning. The best? No. If I am awarded manager of the month it’s because the players are scoring, saving, playing really good.

‘I help them play better and win. It’s a picture for the media, for Instagram, but it’s important to be consistent and have success for our people – the fans who like to watch Man City.’

‘Every season it is the same question!’ he said. ‘The most exciting Premier League in the universe!

‘It’s nice but we’ll see, we are just one part of the season with many games to play, the FA Cup is coming. So far we are very satisfied with what we’ve done so far.’
