A mother has been left outraged after paying £85 for a ‘Grinch visit’ for her son – only to end up having her home trashed.
Laura Magill, thought to be from Northern Ireland, shared her ‘disgusting’ experience in a Facebook post, which has since gone viral after being posted on Twitter.
She explained how she had expected the impersonator to ‘mess the kids’ beds’, ‘put toilet roll around the festive tree’ and have a pillow fight during her youngster’s party.
However instead, Grinch ‘came and stole Christmas’, allegedly destroying ‘every single bit of party food’, breaking the tree decorations, pouring washing up liquid, juice and smashed eggs on the kitchen floor, as well as on her son.

Describing the damage, the mother wrote: ‘Every single bit of party food, expensive cupcakes, thrown all over the place. Tree decorations broke.
‘Fairy up liquid poured on my kitchen floor, eggs smashed and a full bottle of juice poured over my floor and son.’
Insisting she had ‘never been so disgusted in my life’, Laura said she had complained to the company she hired but received no reply. It’s unclear which company she went with.
Laura’s story went viral after being shared on Twitter by a user named Cafucatfood, with more than 169,000 likes.

‘Maybe the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,’ wrote the Twitter user, along with screenshots of Laura’s post.
Many social media users replied in disbelief about the story, questioning why a parent would hire a Grinch impersonator in the first place.
One person wrote: ‘Paid for the Grinch, got the Grinch. No pleasing some people.’
Another said: ‘I’m actually mad confused. Why are there no pictures of the grinch? If she hated it so much, why didn’t she stop him at the time?’

LOC-Down Events Superheroes & Princess Hire clarified the post in question wasn’t about their Grinch, who is a ‘movie quality Jim Carey style Grinch’ available for performances, plays, and games.
The group added they ‘do not destroy any property at events or home visits,’ in a Facebook post after being contacted by shocked onlookers before confirming it wasn’t their doing.
