Proud Craig David is appointed an MBE by the Prince Of Wales at Windsor Castle in recognition of his services to music

It was a day to remember for UK garage star Craig David as he was appointed an MBE by the Prince Of Wales at Windsor Castle.

The 7 Days hitmaker, 40, was the epitome of suave, proudly standing before the heir to the throne as he was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire.

The rapper-cum-DJ, who received the prestigious award in recognition of his services to music, ensured that he pulled out his best finery for the afternoon and sported a dapper suit complete with a spotted burgundy tie.

The profound moment saw Charles stood on a plush rug – extravagantly dressed in royal attire – placing the MBE lapel onto the singer’s suit jacket.

As they briefly chatted in the vast, brightly-lit room, Craig could not keep the proud smile from his face as he received his rightfully deserved award.

The record producer found fame in 1999 after appearing on the single Re-Rewind by Artful Dodger.

A year later, Craig released his debut studio album, Born to Do It, which included hits such as Fill Me In and 7 Days.

It sold over 7.5 million copies worldwide, making it one of the biggest albums by a UK R&B artist.

The Southampton native boasts an impressive discography and released his sixth album, Following My Intuition, six years after number five, Signed Sealed Delivered.

Despite his brief album hiatus, it soared straight to number one – his first album to do so since Born To Do It.
