The number one this year will be the 70th official Christmas number one.

Elton and Ed gave their first ever live performance of Merry Christmas on Tuesday at The One Show studio in London.

Speaking on the show Ed said that they got as many Christmas references in the Merry Christmas video as possible: ‘We have to get mistletoe in, we have to get sleighbells in – it’s a whole thing. We didn’t get mince pies in though.’

He jokingly added: ‘We’ve got one coming next year called Pull my Christmas Cracker – You’ll Get More Than a Bang.’
