Bachelor in Paradise ‘bad boy’ Ciarran Stott blames ‘illegal substances’ for his poor behaviour on the show

Ciarran Stott was a fan-favourite when he first appeared on The Bachelorette in 2019, competing for Angie Kent’s heart.

But the 27-year-old reality star quickly became labelled the villain when he remerged on Bachelor In Paradise just months later with a new persona.

Ciarran has now blamed ‘a lot of illegal substances’ for his behaviour on the show.

‘When I’d just come out of The Bachelorette, everything was blowing up. I was going around Australia, I was partying, I was doing a lot of illegal substances, I was going a bit crazy. I just got caught in the headlights with fame,’ he told the So Dramatic! podcast.

‘Before I went on the show I thought, “All this fame, money, partying, getting flown around Australia, this is what I want!”‘

Ciarran went on to say he started behaving differently.

‘I let it change me. I didn’t stay true to myself. I started acting different, even my family could see it. I was being distant from them,’ he said.

‘It affected my family, my friends, my relationships that I was in.’

During his time on the show, Ciarran was embroiled in various hook-ups, first with Abbie Chatfield, before moving on to Jessica Brody.

When Kiki Morris arrived in Paradise, he quickly ditched Jessica, with revelations coming to the fore that Ciarran and Kiki had met prior to the show and formulated a plan to couple up once she arrived.

Matters were complicated by his ex-girlfriend, Renee Barrett, also appearing on the show, and harbouring the belief that she and Ciarran, who had split just over a week prior to filming, would reunite.

Ciarran quit the show shortly before the final rose ceremony, taking Kiki with him – only for the pair to split two months later.
