Jake Paul wants to become a world champion after defeating Tyron Woodley

Jake Paul insists he’s targeting a WORLD TITLE after destroying Tyron Woodley, as the YouTuber boldly claims that no fighter in the HISTORY of boxing has achieved what he has at this age

Jake Paul believes the prospect of winning a world title is a genuine possibility after ending his rivalry with Tyron Woodley in emphatic fashion in Tampa, Florida.

‘The Problem Child’ claimed a unanimous decision victory over Woodley in their first bout in August, but was more decisive in their eagerly-anticipated rematch as he knocked the UFC legend out cold with a destructive overhand right in the sixth round.

Paul, who overcame a gruesome cut following a clash of heads in round three, moved to 5-0 with the victory and now has knockouts over all four of his opponents.

The YouTuber-turned boxer added to his highlight-reel of knockouts, having claimed similarly emphatic wins over former UFC champion Ben Askren and NBA star Nate Robinson, as well as a first-round stoppage win over AnEsonGib in his first professional outing.

Paul, still just 24 years old, insists the sky is the limit, arguing he can reach elite level in the sport should he continue to dedicate himself to boxing.

Asked about his long-term vision in the sport during his post-fight press conference, Paul said: ‘It’s scary to try and put a cap on where this go, the potential is unlimited here.

‘It’s really up to me and my team and how hard I want to work. I’m hungry and motivated and I love this s***. Two years as a professional and this has gone astronomical and it’s making history.

‘I would love to just continue to put on historic events, sell massive pay-per-views and fight higher level opposition as I go.

‘Maybe when the time is right I’ll go for the world championship belt, whatever belt that is – IBF, WBA, WBO, I don’t know. It would be funny to become world champion and be like: “Yeah, I’m a YouTuber”.

‘As soon as I win the world championship, I’d take the belt and I would throw it on the f****** ground and stomp on it, because you’re a champion in here (pointing to his head) and in your heart… I am a champion!’

Paul has argued on several occasions that his level of opposition exceeds that of most professional fighters in their early careers.

He was due to fight Tommy Fury, rather than Woodley, in Florida, before the Brit was forced to withdraw due to a broken rib and a chest infection. In Fury’s fifth outing, he defeated Scott Williams, whose record was 0-9 at the time, now 0-21.

Paul insists no other fighter can match what he’s achieved in his short career to date.

‘No one in the history of boxing has done what I’ve done at this age,” he added.

‘Massive pay-per-views, knocked out every single person that I’ve fought. The only person that’s as active as me and doing as big pay-per-views is Canelo.

‘I’ve turned everyone I’ve fought into memes, going viral all over the internet. I’m ready to fight whoever – it doesn’t matter if they’re a professional boxer or a five-time UFC champion. I’m built for this.’
