Danielle Spencer shares a rare throwback with ex Russell Crowe on their son’s 18th birthday 

Danielle Spencer and Russell Crowe’s eldest son Charlie turned 18 on Tuesday.

And the actress celebrated the occasion by sharing a rare photo with her Gladiator star ex to Instagram.

The throwback photo showed the happy newlyweds in 2003 with their newborn son.  

The proud mum captioned the post, ‘My first born is 18 today. Gulp. Happy Birthday Charlie!! I am so proud of you. Love you so much’.

As well as Charlie, the exes also share 15-year-old son Tennyson.  

Meanwhile, last month Spencer, 52, revealed their eldest son has recently graduated from high school. 

Danielle shared a photo of Charles on Instagram to mark the moment and fans couldn’t believe just how much he looks like his famous father. 

Charlie is the spitting image of Russell, 57, rocking longer locks just like dad. 

‘Wow… Charles Spencer Crowe graduated from High School today! Time is flying way too fast. So proud of you. Love you beyond words Charlie,’ Danielle captioned her post.

Underneath, fans were quick to congratulate Charlie and Danielle on the milestone.

They also remarked how ‘handsome’ Charlie is and how much he looks like his dad. 

‘Handsome young man,’ one follower wrote.

‘Looks just like his dad. Congratulations on graduation,’ another added.

Danielle and Russell share two boys together-  Charlie and Tennyson, 15.

The pair married in April 2003 at his farm in Nana Glen.

The enjoyed a nine-year marriage, before separating in 2012 and divorcing six years later.

Despite their high-profile split, Danielle previously told Stellar magazine that the couple are still friends and see one another as ‘family’.

‘We have a lot of respect for each other and I consider him to be a member of my family,’ she said.

‘The marriage ended, but that didn’t mean our friendship ended. We’ve had holidays together in the past and we can happily sit down and chat.’

In 2015, Russell made international headlines when he told The Sunday Times that he didn’t rule out a reconciliation with Danielle. 

‘I’ve loved Danielle Spencer since 1989 – that’s never going to change – and that’s one of those things where I stare at her and go, ”How did this fail?’ I still can’t work it out, because my feelings for her have never changed,’ Russell said.

But speaking to Sunday Style in April 2015, Danielle shot down suggestions of a reconciliation and said she was prioritising their children and family unit going forward.

She said it would be ‘sad’ if her and Russell weren’t friends, as they’ve known each other since they were teenagers.

Danielle reflected on their split, saying: ‘As far as separation goes, it’s hard for anybody; there’s a lot of adjustments to make.’

Danielle is now dating art dealer Adam Long and the pair have been together for around five years. 

Meanwhile, Russell is in a relationship with American actress turned real estate agent Britney Theriot, 30.
