Tina Louise wanted to take relationship with ex Brett Oppenheim to ‘next step’ but he wasn’t ready

They recently called off their relationship after dating for eight months and have remained committed to their friendship despite no longer maintaining a romantic interest.

And Tina Louise admitted she wanted to take her relationship with ex Brett Oppenheim to ‘the next step,’ but he wasn’t quite ready yet.

The 40-year-old model noted that Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim’s ill-fated romance may have been the catalyst in their own relationship as it helped them discuss their own wants and needs.

Tina boasted that the pair remained the best of friends and had even planned on spending Christmas together as she chatted with TMZ outside of her Sugar Taco restaurant on Melrose Avenue.

‘Oh we broke up. It’s ok; we’re still friends,’ she said. ‘Well, you know, we were together for eight months, so it got to a point where I wanted to take the next step in the relationship, and he wasn’t quite there yet.’

When asked if Tina wanted kids, she said she ‘wasn’t sure’ and also noted it ‘wasn’t for her to say’ if Brett wanted to have children or not.

‘I think maybe the relationship with Chrishell and Jason may have prompted me to sort of ask more questions with Brett, and then that sort of ended the relationship,’ she said.

Tina said that they spent Christmas together as they’re still ‘very close’ and plan on remaining friends.

When it came to the idea of getting back together, Tina said: ‘I don’t think so. There are certain things I want and certain things he can’t give me.’

Their split came on the heels of Chrishell’s break-up with Jason, which she confirmed in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday.

Chrishell attributed the split to ‘our ideas of family ultimately not being aligned,’ pointing out: ‘Men have the luxury of time that women don’t and that’s just the way it goes.’

‘I have tried to embrace the world I have found myself in and that includes being open and honest about my relationship,’ her statement began.

‘It felt scary and terrifying knowing that it may not end in what society deems a success and what I am ultimately looking for. But after many long heartfelt talks, I am choosing to see it as a success no matter what label is attached to it publicly.’

‘Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward,’ she added.

‘Men have the luxury of time that women don’t and that’s just the way it goes. All of that being said, navigating this public terrain is difficult and I am just trying my best.’

‘No one would rather only speak about work related things more than me. But I understand this comes with it and I will always love and be extremely grateful for the opportunities I have been given,’ she said.

‘Although my initial reaction to a private situation was to not speak on it, sometimes it’s easier to just live transparently because we only get one chance at this life. I very much hope to one day have a family and decisions I make at this point are with that goal in mind. Thank you for the kindness and support to those that understand.’

‘And thank you Jason for the most incredible relationship and for consistently being honest with me even when it hurts.’

Prior to becoming involved with the entrepreneur, the actress was married to Justin Hartley, with whom she tied the knot in 2017.

The two went on to separate two years after a very public split which aired on Selling Sunset, and they finalized their divorce in February.
