Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly lining up a shock swoop for Conor Gallagher with Mauricio Pochettino a keen admirer of the Chelsea star amid his impressive displays at Crystal Palace.

Gallagher, 21, has been one of Patrick Vieira’s stand-out performers at Selhurst Park this campaign, contributing six goals and three assists in 18 appearances for the Eagles.

And according to The Sun, Gallagher’s displays have caught the eye of former Tottenham boss Pochettino and the French giants, who are considering a January move for the England international.

As Gallagher is currently out on loan, a permanent transfer this month appears complicated, but the report suggests that the Blues could fetch as much as £50million for their academy starlet.

Chelsea – who are in the midst of an injury crisis – are unable to recall Gallagher from his loan spell as he has played more than the agreed percentage of Palace matches when he joined in the summer.

The same outlet adds that PSG will return for Gallagher next summer if they are unable to get a deal over the line this month.

Gallagher’s spell at Selhurst Park is his fourth loan move away from the Blues in his short career, having previously played for West Brom, Swansea and Charlton.

The 21-year-old has long maintained that he sees his future at Stamford Bridge, yet a switch to the French capital may be all too tempting for the playmaker.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is understood to be looking to refresh his midfield and is reportedly willing to let Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Hakim Ziyech leave in order to recruit new signings.
