A Michigan man who illegally parked his Chevrolet SUV in front of the US Supreme Court last fall returned to the same location in Washington DC on Thursday and was questioned by the US Capitol Police.
The agency announced in a tweet just before 10am that Dale Paul Melvin, 55, of Kimball, Michigan, was found in his Chevy Tahoe sitting outside the nation’s highest court on First Street, where parking is illegal.
‘Our investigators are talking to him now,’ the Capitol Police stated. ‘Out of an abundance of caution, we have closed off the area.’
Photos taken at the scene show several law enforcement officials speaking to the bearded, bespectacled driver of the battered Chevy in a pouring rain.
