The soon to be mum-of-two told of how her second shot at IVF was much more challenging than the first and she and her husband Guy McDermott had moments where they feared it may not work.

The Nine’s Sunday Footy Show panellist said she was ‘fortunate’ that her first journey through IVF worked almost straight away and saw her welcome daughter Parker in February 2019.

However getting pregnant with baby number two was ‘different’ and more challenging for the couple.

Ms Ferguson said there were many hard moments and she needed to take a ‘breather’ from the ‘consuming’ process for a few months to get her mindset right.

The couple then ‘knuckled down’ and dove back into IVF, vowing to try as many times as it took, and after six months fell pregnant with their second child, due later this year.

‘The day that it happened and the day that you get that phone call after they’ve put it in and it’s actually worked is just the most special moment,’ she said.

Being ‘open and honest’ with both her husband and IVF specialists, Ms Ferguson said helped her through the difficult time.

‘It taught me you’ve got to be in the right mindset and be persistent and just sort of trust the process and you’ll get there in the end,’ she added.
