Matt Martin, his girlfriend, and her roommates were exploring the attic of their Fitzroy rental when they discovered a creepy ‘stalker shrine’

Some of these items include chewed gum, photos, old boots and socks, used bandaids, and a cigarette.

Mr Martin said they had heard about ‘personal items’ in the home from a previous tenant but were shocked by what they found.

‘We were always a tad sus when we heard about it from the previous tenants, but once we found it and knew it was actually among us we were all kinda creeped out,’ he said.

‘No one – especially Ali – wanted to sleep there that night.’

Some viewers of the video suggested it could be a former Richmond AFL player due to uniform design but others pointed out local clubs use similar designs.

In a follow-up video Mr Martin revealed the group had called a non-urgent police hotline but claim they were told ‘if there’s no body part, we can’t do anything’.

They then reportedly followed up with Fitzroy Police Station who were ‘fully supportive and took down a report’.

They had also tried to get a hold of their landlord but had little luck.

‘We tried to get onto the landlord through the real estate agent who said that the builders had let them know that the previous homeowner had left “personal belongings” there,’ he said.

‘They ended up telling us to do what we want with it. (To) throw it out or leave it.’

The current owners of the home bought the property in 2016 and were reportedly warned by construction workers of the items.

Mr Martin said he doubts ‘anything will come of’ the strange shrine and said the group have decided to leave it for the time being.

‘It’s either a creep with a weird obsession with a footy player, or an art installation,’ he said.

‘(The roommates) are only starting to slowly come to terms with it being up there.’
