Posh and WRECKS: The Beckhams’ £31.5m London townhouse needs urgent structural repairs

‘In poor structural condition due to wear resulting from age’ is not how you’d expect David Beckham to be described.

So you’ll be pleased to hear it doesn’t apply to him – but to his £31.5 million townhouse in London’s super-posh Holland Park.

Becks and wife Victoria already pumped £8 million into renovating their ageing Victorian villa in 2016, which has an indoor pool and wine cellar and even had separate quarters where Brooklyn used to live before he moved in with fiancée Nicola Peltz.

At the time, it was reported they enlisted the help of top interior designer Kelly Hoppen, before replacing her with Rose Uniacke.

But it still needs urgent structural repairs – with a raised terrace so close to collapse that it’s been sealed off.

The Beckhams are keen to get on with urgent repairs but, as a local has said, because it’s Grade II listed ‘they can’t do anything without council approval’.

The UK’s most famous power couple bought the four-storey detached period home for an estimated £31.5million in 2013 as an inner-city replacement for their sprawling Hertfordshire estate – which had been dubbed Beckingham Palace.

Because it is a Grade II listed building, the couple had to submit 50 planning applications to renovate the home when they first bought it.

It took three years for the family to transform the property into a luxury family home and they moved in in 2016.

The six-bedroom house was built in the mid-19th century, and features six bedrooms, a gym, cinema room, play room and spa room.

Meanwhile, a seventh bedroom was converted into a dressing room and beauty room for David and Victoria’s extensive wardrobe.

The property reportedly also featured an access tunnel for staff and security leading to a second smaller mews property they bought at the same time without being seen.

Shortly after the purchase, the couple installed air conditioning and a sound system so that music could be played in every room, controlled by a phone or computer.

It was also reported that they planned on adding specially designed waterproof plasma TVs in every bathroom.

Their children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and daughter Harper took over the second floor of the house which has three bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.

The kitchen is done out with dark gloss units with a slate-inspired counter top, housing the family’s trendy cooking accessories.

A large statement island boasts the family’s oven as well as wooden handles that perfectly offset the dark accents while a wall-mounted television is neatly tucked away on a wall opposite.

The lower ground floor includes a study, a gym and massage room, three service rooms and a small garden and there is an underground garage where the family kept their fleet of cars.

David and Victoria reportedly sold their 12 acre Hertfordshire home, known as Beckingham Palace, for £12million, having purchased it three months after their 1999 wedding for £2.5million.

However, they also own homes in Miami, two in Dubai, a £6.15million home in the Cotswolds and a £2.6million holiday home in the South of France.
