Chelsea will avoid paying lucrative bonuses to players for their Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup triumphs despite pocketing over £7million in prize money from lifting both trophies.
Sportsmail understands Blues players did not negotiate any additional financial rewards for winning the two prestigious competitions during talks with club officials at the start of the season.
Clubs agree a bonus schedule with their respective squads ahead of each season, which traditionally act as an extra incentive for players.

Chelsea stars are entitled to supplementary payments from the club should they win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup or League Cup.
But Chelsea’s player bonus agreement does not include a pay-out for winning the Club World Cup or UEFA Super Cup.
Generally, bonus agreements are linked to league position and winning silverware. Upon unlocking bonuses, the amounts are usually split on a pro-rata basis among the squad.
Nowadays, because players earn such vast sums, footballers often donate their bonuses to lower-paid team-mates or young professionals.
Chelsea’s bonus threshold is understood to be one of the most difficult to achieve in the Premier League, with the club generally only paying out for trophies won – an approach that is said to nurture a winning mentality within the team.

It is understood the exception to that rule is that Chelsea players are entitled to a pay-out if they reach the Champions League final.
However, Chelsea’s bonus structure is said to be one of the most lucrative in England if the team provide major silverware.
Last weekend’s victory over Palmeiras in the Club World Cup Final means Chelsea have now won every available trophy in the Roman Abramovich era.
The victory in Abu Dhabi on Saturday earned the club £3.6million in prize money from FIFA.
Chelsea were awarded £3.7million for winning the UEFA Super Cup earlier this season, beating Villarreal on penalties.
