Real Madrid ‘WILL sign Mbappe and Haaland’ because Barcelona and Juventus are financially ‘ruined’

Real Madrid ‘WILL sign Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland’ because rivals Barcelona and Juventus are financially ‘ruined’ and they are the only club with the ‘power’ to get deals done, insists LaLiga chief Javier Tebas

  • Kylian Mbappe has four months left on his contract and is free to talk to clubs
  • Erling Haaland’s £64million release clause is set to come into effect in summer
  • The young forwards are expected to be on the move at the end of the season
  • Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Man City are all said to be interested
  • But LaLiga president Javier Tebas has tipped Madrid to be their destination

LaLiga president Javier Tebas has claimed that Real Madrid will beat Barcelona and Juventus to the signatures of both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

The starlets are expected to be on the move this summer and have attracted interest from across Europe’s top flights.

However, Tebas believes Los Blancos are the only side with the financial power to sign the PSG and Borussia Dortmund forwards as other suitors, such as Barcelona and Juventus, are ‘ruined’.

‘Madrid will get Mbappe and Haaland as the others [Barcelona and Juventus] are ruined [financially],’ Tebas told reporters via Goal.

‘That Mbappe comes is great news for LaLiga. It would be a joy for LaLiga. It’s the best thing that could happen to LaLiga.’

Real Madrid made two offers for France international Mbappe last summer but were rejected by PSG’s owners.

The 23-year-old has just four months left to run on his current deal, and is currently free to speak to other clubs across Europe over a free transfer.

It is expected Madrid will return for the Frenchman but his summer plans were thrown into doubt this week.

PSG have reportedly offered Mbappe a contract in excess of £500,000-a-week, which would make him the highest paid footballer on the planet, in a bid to keep him at the Parc des Princes.

The Ligue 1 side’s sporting director, Leonardo, revealed last summer that Mbappe had turned down their best ever offer to any player and it is yet to be seen if he will accept their latest one.

Mbappe demonstrated his talents against Los Blancos on Tuesday with a spectacular winning goal but the LaLiga side have no hope of getting close to a similar figure in an attempt to lure him to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite his claims linking Mbappe to Real Madrid, Tebas clarified that he did not have insider knowledge.

‘I have no information regarding Mbappe,’ he added.

‘But I’ve seen few cases of players who have six months left on their contracts that have not renewed their contracts and then went on to continue at the club.’

Meanwhile, Haaland – who has scored 23 goals in 20 matches for Dortmund in all competitions this season – is expected to be chased by Barca, Mbappe’s current side PSG and Manchester City, in addition to Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old’s £64million release clause will be activated later this year and he is set to be one of the most sought-after players in the summer window
