John Terry has revealed he didn’t mind that Wayne Rooney wore longer studs in an attempt ‘to hurt someone’, after the Derby County manager was warned by the FA over his claim.
The former Chelsea captain took to Instagram to answer a number of questions including which football derby he enjoyed the most, who was the best coach he played under and whether or not he is ready to step into management.
Rooney spoke about wearing different studs during a 2006 match between his old club Manchester United and Chelsea, an incident that Terry has clearly played down the severity of.

When asked whether he cared about what Rooney had done, Terry replied: ‘Of course not. We know each other well enough and had many battles over the years.
‘Two stitches at half time, there was no way I wasn’t coming out for the second half to win the league beating Manchester Utd 3-0.’
The news comes shortly after the FA contacted Rooney in an investigation into the claim, and it is understood that the Rams boss was issued with a warning.
Rooney had previously claimed: ‘The studs were legal but thinking if there’s a challenge there I knew I’d want to go in for it properly. I did actually. John Terry left the stadium on crutches. I left a hole in his foot.’

The former Chelsea skipper also said that Spurs was the easiest derby to play in, and thinks that now Chelsea are way ahead of any of their London rivals.
When asked which derby he enjoyed most, Terry said: ‘Playing against Spurs. Guaranteed three points.
‘They shouldn’t be called London derby’s [sic] anymore because none of the London teams are anywhere near us [Chelsea].’
Chelsea made history earlier in the season after their victory against Brentford, which saw them win seven consecutive away London derbies for the first time in the Premier League.

The ex-England international was later asked about which manager he learnt the most from during his playing career.
Firstly, Terry answered: ‘Jose [Mourinho]. He was the best I played under, I’m still scared of him now.
‘Also loved Carlo Ancelotti.’
Mourinho, now at Italian side Roma, won three Premier Leagues, three League Cups and one FA Cup during his two stints with Terry’s Chelsea side.
Terry was quick to jump to the defence of current Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta
The former Chelsea defender jumped to the defence of current captain Cesar Azpilicueta, following comments made by Neil Warnock last week.
When asked for his thoughts on Warnock’s statement, Terry claimed: ‘He is miles off it, laughable comments.
‘Azpilicueta and Ash are the best defenders I have played with. Pure lazy journalism.
‘Anyone who knows and watches Cesar knows he is unbelievable defensively. By the way, let’s all appreciate our captain.’
He has also revealed that he is ready to step into management if the right job comes
Terry finished off his Q&A by reinstating his desire to manage one day and heaped praise on Thiago Silva, who’s become a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.
In relation to management, Terry stated: ‘I’m ready, I’m waiting but there are a lot of things that need to be right.
‘I’m in no rush, just patiently waiting, if the right one never comes along I’m also comfortable with that.’
The former Aston Villa assistant then claimed that he’d love to have played in defence alongside Thiago Silva.

Terry said: ‘Absolutely love him. To be playing so well at his age in the best league is unbelievable.
‘Just wish I could have played alongside him. He does everything so well without taking any risk and keeping things simple.
‘We are very lucky to have him at the club’.
The 37-year-old has already picked up three pieces of silverware since arriving in West London, following success in the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup tournaments.
