Upmarket private members’ club Soho House opening two sites in Brighton and Nashville, Tennessee

Upmarket private members’ club Soho House is opening two sites.

This month it launches a ‘house’ in Brighton. And last week it opened one in Nashville, Tennessee, the centre of the US country music industry.

Soho House is known for its exclusive hotels and clubs around the world, including 12 in the UK when Brighton opens. Eight are in London, including the original house in Greek Street that was set up in 1995.

Before her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, it was reported Meghan Markle had enjoyed a spa weekend at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds. Founder and chief executive Nick Jones said Nashville had been on the company’s ‘bucket list’ for years.

Jones, 58, is a serial entrepreneur who is married to former Desert Island Discs presenter Kirsty Young.

But in New York shares in Soho House’s parent, Membership Collective Group, slid more than 6 per cent to around $7.40, almost half the $14 it listed at last July. Britons over the age of 27 can expect to pay £2,000 a year for access to every site.
