Micah Richards calls out Patrice Evra following Manchester City’s dominant derby win

‘We love this game!’: Micah Richards calls out Patrice Evra following Manchester City’s dominant derby win… after celebrating wildly in the Sky Sports studio during 4-1 rout of derby rivals United

  • Manchester City trounced United 4-1 at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon
  • Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez scored two a piece in demolition of United
  • Micah Richards celebrated City’s goals wildly in the Sky Sports studio
  • Former City defender then called out Patrice Evra on social media on Monday

Micah Richards enjoyed Manchester City’s dominant display in the Manchester derby and made sure to let Patrice Evra and his fellow Sky Sports pundits know.

City outclassed United at the Etihad on Sunday, with Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez scoring two goals apiece in a 4-1 demolition that kept the Premier League champions six points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table.

Richards, who spent a decade at City, cheered every goal with gusto from the Sky Sports studio as documented in his Instagram story.

The footage shows Richards celebrating De Bruyne’s opener after just five minutes, shouting ‘Kevin’ after the Belgian finished off a slick move to put City 1-0 up.

The former England international then jokingly mocked his colleagues of a red persuasion, quipping that: ‘It’s awfully quiet in here [the studio]’ while a gloomy-looking Roy Keane stares out of the window and onto the pitch.

Keane’s afternoon went from bad to worse in the next clip, which shows Richard pumping his fist towards the City fans and joining their ‘City! City!’ chants after the hosts’ third goal.

Richards was in celebratory mood after the game and treated himself to a tipple from a City-themed bottle from his spirits cabinet.

‘Celebrations! Should I break out the Louis?,’ he said while zooming in on an expensive-looking bottle of Remy Martin Louis XIII.

As the camera then moves onto two bottles painted in blue and white and featuring City’s badge, Richards joked:  ‘No, no. This is more appropriate for tonight!’

Having milked the celebrations in the Sky Sports studio on Sunday, Richards called Patrice Evra on Monday morning.

The Frenchman has often teased his fellow Sky Sports pundit in the studio and on social media whenever his former club got the better in the Manchester rival. Presented with the perfect chance to exact some revenge, Richards didn’t let it slip.

‘Patrice Evra, where’s your Monday morning video?,’ he wrote on Instagram in reference to the ‘Monday motivation’ videos the former United left-back is known to share on social media.

Richards then tagged Evra in a post along with City-supporting duo Liam and Noel Gallagher, mocking the Frenchman’s ‘I love this game’ signature line.

‘Liam, Noel… We love this game,’ he said in fits of laughter.
