Leighton starred as the wealthy teen Blair Waldorf – otherwise known as Queen B – on Gossip Girl.

She played the iconic character for five seasons alongside Blake Lively,Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and Taylor Momsen.

She spoke out about reprising her role as Blair recently in an interview with Fox 5 New York’s Rosanna Scotto.

During the sit-down, the performer noted that she was unsure if she would return to the series, although she was a fan of the rebooted version.

‘I don’t know, maybe. I will say, you know…I’ve watched the new one, I do think it’s really awesome,’ she said.

Meester also remarked that, although she supported the program’s cast, she did not feel as if her character would mesh well with the new ones.

‘I’m happy for them, I feel like they’re doing a whole new thing, and I don’t think that we don’t fit in but, I can only speak for myself, I don’t feel like I don’t fit in,’ she said.

The performer did note, however, that she was happy to let the new cast be the centers of attention and that she would potentially consider returning to the program.

‘I feel really good sort of sitting back and leaving it to the kids, to the young new generation, they’re doing so awesome. So, that’s all I’ll say for now, you know…you never say never,’ she said.
