An Aldi customer has shared her disappointment with her recent purchase of a food container after the lid cracked and doesn’t fit properly. 

In a post shared to the popular Facebook group, Aldi Mums, the shopper said she was ‘extremely disappointed’ with the storage containers she bought from the supermarket’s Special Buys this week.

The Sydney mum shared three photos of the new containers with the lid already cracked and ill-fitting after just a few uses however some customers report having no issues with the storage solution.

‘Shame…they’re a good size,’ she wrote in the post that drew in dozens of comments. 

While some in the comments responded saying they haven’t had any problem with their Aldi containers, others shared the woman’s frustration. 

‘I have these and have had no problems with them. The lid goes on pretty easy with no cracks,’ one shopper said.

‘Yes, I bought these the other day and the lids have cracked and don’t fit containers properly. I know I could take them back without my docket but can’t be bothered,’ another explained. 

‘I bought the cactus design ones from Aldi and my lids cracked too and they weren’t tight at all,’ said a third. 

One woman suggested taking the faulty containers back to Aldi for a refund, another said to get in contact with the manufacturers Joie, and many recommended some useful hacks to try to make the lids fit.

‘I found it tricky at first. You just need to put on one end and slide your thumbs with pressure to the other end instead of trying to put on by pushing the whole thing down,’ 

Did you try soaking the lid in hot water then putting it on hot? Allow to cool completely then hopefully the lid will fit properly,’ 

‘Have you tried soaking the kid in boiling water for about five minutes then dry and try?’
