Mariah Carey turns 53! Ageless star who is reluctant to acknowledge her birthday posts a selfie… as fans wish her a ‘happy anniversary’

Mariah Carey celebrated another trip around the sun today, but the ageless singer isn’t calling it a birthday.

The Grammy-winning singer – who is reluctant to celebrate her big day – posted a picture of herself on Instagram with the caption ‘3.27’ followed by a fireworks emoji.

Mariah – who has turned 53 –  is famous for refusing to talk about her age, instead saying she is ‘eternally 12’ and referring to her birth date as her ‘anniversary.’

The mother of two looked casual in a lime green camisole and a forest green silk jacket with embroidered flowers. 

The Fantasy singer kept her makeup looking natural and accessorized with a butterfly ring and a dog in her lap. 

The chart topping artist was born 53 years ago but prefers to mark the day by calling it an anniversary, and her millions of followers and fans around the world were happy to comply.

Celebrities such as Jermaine Dupree wrote ‘Here’s to the Happiest Anniversary,’ while ballet star Misty Copeland posted, ‘Happy Anniversary Queen!!!’

Heidi Klum, Bust Rhymes and Adinett Nsabimana all joined in sending good wishes on the occasion. 

That’s not the only big news going on in the singer’s life.  Mariah will be features on a new re-mix of Latto’s Big Energy Monday.  The new single will also feature DJ Khaled.

The five-octave diva posted about the collaboration on social media in a album cover showing her and the rapper in bright pink bodycon dresses. 

With multiple hits and Grammy awards to her name, Mariah is also adding the title teacher to her resume. 

She will join the ranks of other artists when she begins teaching about using the voice as an instrument for MasterClass. The course launches April 14.
