Mum goes TikTok viral after revealing she told her dad she was pregnant at 16 when she was in labour

A young mum has told of how her dad only found out she was pregnant when she went into labour at 16 years old.

Elle Woods, from Sydney, said 13 years ago she woke her dad up at 4am complaining about pain and 20 minutes later gave birth to her daughter, Isabelle who is now 12.

’16 year old me at 4am wakes my dad up: ‘I’m not feeling good, can you find me some Panadol’,’ the 29-year-old wrote in a now-viral video posted to TikTok.

However it turns out she was ‘in active labour with the half of the baby’s head already out’, giving her father that surprise of his life.

‘When I tell you he is never going to let me forget this, I mean he is NEVER going to let me forget this,’ the mum-of-two captioned the post.

With limited medical facilities and the nearest hospital a 40 minute drive away, Elle’s dad called triple zero and had the operators talk him through the delivery.

In a later video, Elle said she had gone into shock and lost a lot of blood during labour so her memory of the night and her dad’s reaction is hazy.

Elle’s video blew up drawing in a whopping 8.2million views and she received an onslaught of questions from viewers asking more about why she kept her pregnancy secret.

‘My father did not know I was pregnant until 4am that morning and he delivered my daughter at 4:20am, literally 20 minutes later,’ she said.

‘I did know I was pregnant, I found out at seven months through my nutritionist, not my GP and I just didn’t tell anyone I was pregnant.’

Elle also explained why she kept her pregnancy secret for so long, saying her family had many issues at the time.

‘You have to understand mine and my family’s lives were absolute chaos,’ she explained.

‘There was a lot going on and it’s like everyone’s problems were bigger than my problems so I just chose not to tell anyone I was pregnant because it was easier for everyone if they didn’t know,’ she said.

She said they had no baby supplies since she kept her pregnancy a secret but her local community donated a stroller, clothes, nappies, and more.

‘When I was in hospital my dad went to one of those places where you can hire baby goods and he hired a car capsule for Belle and got it fitted into his car,’ she said.

‘Random people – to this day I don’t know who – from the community I lived in literally just donated all of this stuff which was amazing.’

Elle said her daughter and dad are ‘literal best friends’ with Isabelle choosing to spend her summer holidays living with her grandfather.

‘My dad is literally the most selfless person you will ever meet,’ she said.

‘Him becoming a full time grandparent meant that I could go back to school, finish high school and then we could work out what was going to happen after that. As a result, these two became literal best friends.’

Since Isabelle was born, Elle finished school, went on to university and became a teacher.

While she is no longer with Isabelle’s father, she has since married and had a second child.
