NRL great Johnathan Thurston puts his former Townsville home on the market after recently purchasing another property nearby for $4.5million
Johnathan Thurston has listed his former Townsville home after purchasing another property in the area back in September.
The 38-year-old retired NRL star recently bought a waterfront property in nearby Rowes Bay for $4.5million with his wife of seven years, Samantha Lynch.
The $4.5million sale set a new record for the Townsville suburb.

The property comes with its own storied sports history, with golfer Greg Norman and Olympic swimmer Glenn Buchanan both previous owners.
According to a report by Domain, it was one of two property purchased by the footballer last year, with Johnathan snapping up a second home in the same area in December.
He’s since listed his former home – a contemporary waterfront villa – with reports it’s set to sell for over $2million.

Johnathan’s former home sits across two levels, and features five bedrooms, two living areas, a large study and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
The bottom level boasts an open plan living and dining area, which opens up to an outside deck and in-ground swimming pool.
Meanwhile, the study, also located downstairs, possesses a private entrance, ‘his and her’ built-in desks and custom shelving.

The upper level of the home features a formal lounge area, which opens out to a second deck area with sweeping views across the water.
The master bedroom includes a dressing room with custom storage, and there’s also a self-contained guest retreat outside the house, which features a kitchenette, ensuite and walk-in wardrobe.
The property also boasts a ‘child’s wonderland’, which comes equipped with a playground, turfed areas, shade cloth and garden.
