Birmingham City ‘are bracing themselves for offers’ on England U18s star George Hall

Birmingham City ‘are bracing themselves for offers’ for starlet George Hall after Premier League and Bundesliga scouts watched the 17-year-old midfielder’s stunning England U18s performance against Sweden

  • Premier League scouts attended England U18s games in Marbella last week
  • Ryan Garry’s Young Lions beat Sweden 3-2 and drew 3-3 against Denmark
  • Birmingham City’s George Hall was particularly impressive in midfield
  • Leeds and Southampton are both said to be interested in the 17-year-old

Premier League and European scouts checked on England U18s as they took on Sweden and Denmark in Marbella last week.

England ran out 3-2 winners against Sweden and showed good character to come back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 against Denmark at the Marbella football centre.

Birmingham City youngster George Hall was again the subject of much discussion, after putting in impressive performances from midfield.

Birmingham City’s George Hall is said to be a target for a number of top flight clubs in summer

He was the only outfield player outside of a Premier League club to make Ryan Garry’s squad and impressed scouts once again with his tactical versatility.

Hall played in a number of different midfield positions and showed the physical capability required to play first team football at a top level.

Birmingham rate the 17-year-old very highly but are bracing themselves for offers with Leeds United, Southampton and a clutch of Bundesliga sides among those maintaining a watching brief on his progression.

The signing would definitely fit the model at Leeds, with 19-year-old striker Joe Gelhardt making 14 Premier League appearances in his second season at the club.

It’d be the second time that the Yorkshire club has prised a talent away from St Andrews after signing 19-year-old Amari Miller in the recent summer window.

However Hall may follow in the steps of Jude Bellingham, who left the Blues to join Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2020, and has gone on to star in England’s first team.
