Married at First Sight ‘cheaters’ Carolina Santos and Daniel Holmes returned to the show for the final reunion on Monday night.

And the pair were not well received by their co-stars and relationship experts alike, with the group left horrified by seeing footage of the pair conducting their ‘affair’.

Carolina, 34, was originally paired with Dion Giannarelli, 34, while Daniel, 30, was ‘married’ to Jessica Seracino, 27.

The couple returned to the reunion to flaunt their love for one another after leaving the show – and their co-stars were not amused.

Domenica Calarco called the footage of the pair smooching ‘disgusting’ and yelled for it to be turned off as it was giving her ‘diarrhea’.

Jack Millar agreed, saying to Dion: ‘I am so sorry you had to see that mate’.

Ella Ding chimed in: ‘It was all so calculated and intentional. It’s a shame that’s their love story.’

Angry at what he was hearing, Daniel snapped back: ‘You are all single, shut up!’

Dion then admitted that he suspected that Carolina was ‘cheating’ on him during the experiment.

‘It’s not nice to watch, no one wants to see that. I sent a message to my mother saying that I thought she might have a guy on the outside, I didn’t know it was on the inside,’ he confessed.

Then he turned to Carolina and said passionately: ‘The lead on, the torment you out me through, to say I don’t try. You should have just been the big woman, to stand up and say, “I met someone else”.

‘I am sorry you have to go through living your life being disrespectful.’

Can only laugh: Dion (pictured) burst out laughing, before John piped up again, asking Carolina: 'Is that the best you can do?'

Relationship expert John Aiken then joined the pile on, saying calling the couple ‘smug and unapologetic’.

‘You don’t get it. The two of you simply do not understand the consequences of your behaviour.  It showed us you are deeply insecure. You need to apologise. I want you to own it and be accountable’ he said.

'I gave you a chance to show some empathy and you dropped the ball. Everyone in this room gave us a strong signal about our behaviour. A lack of empathy will get you nowhere,' John said to Carolina

Dion was forgiving in the end, saying to Carolina: ‘Shame it panned out the way it has. I wish we all find love. Even Daniel and Carolina.’
